Many weather applications currently on the market primarily offer forecasts for specific cities. However, the ALERT FM App stands out by potentially enhancing personal safety during critical events.

The ALERT FM App combines the well-regarded iMap Weather Radio with ALERT FM's robust local and state citizen notification system. Users receive timely, localized emergency information during various stages of a critical event, including weather alerts and available shelter locations, directly on their mobile devices.

This app is increasingly adopted by state and local officials to ensure that citizens are informed about emergency situations. The ALERT FM App provides comprehensive features, including weather forecasts, current conditions, radar updates every five minutes, and advisories such as watches and warnings tailored to both preset and current locations throughout the United States. Furthermore, users can access critical information from federal, state, and local emergency officials regarding storm precautions, evacuations, hazardous chemical spills, major accidents, Amber Alerts, and more.

The ALERT FM App is available for free download. While the essential emergency alerting and basic weather functionalities are offered at no cost, users have the option to enhance their experience through in-app purchases for upgraded weather features.

Free Features Include:

• Emergency information from registered federal and state sources is delivered via push notifications (alerts sent even when the app is closed) and can be viewed under “Text Alerts” within the app.
• Access to over 100 types of weather advisories, watches, warnings, forecasts, and radar updates every five minutes for up to five saved locations as well as your current GPS location.
• Weather advisories, watches, and warnings can be checked by opening the app and selecting the badge next to a chosen location; however, push notifications for these alerts are available through an upgrade for $9.99.
• A badge indicates active alerts; the number next to this badge reflects how many alerts are currently in effect.

Note: Custom Alerts found under SETTINGS can only be selected for Push Notifications. This feature enables users to choose which advisories or warnings they wish to receive on their phones. Although these alerts may appear "disabled" under the free features, all pertinent advisories and warnings for saved and current locations will still be delivered as outlined above.

Upgrading to Weather Radio for $9.99 Unlocks:

• Voice audio options providing spoken weather forecasts and alerts.
